Atomic Wallet Reviews

Last updated: 2024-05-09, 12:42 Pacific Time

Atomic Wallet claims to be a safe crypto wallet for buying, staking & swapping. The company notes that their product is trusted by 5,000,000 users worldwide.

What Atomic Wallet fails to note on its homepage is that a hack of its wallet lost $100m+ of their users’ funds. The company and CEO Konstantin Gladych have largely ignored user requests for updates on the breach.

It seems that Atomic Wallet is attempting to sweep this security breach under the rug. The company bans Redditors who request updates on its subreddit. It also forbids replies to company tweets.

Meanwhile, many oddly positive reviews started appearing on Trustpilot shortly after the hack—ostensibly to drown out real users’ reviews. As of today, Trustpilot notes that Atomic Wallet’s TrustScore is unavailable due to a breach of Trustpilot’s Guidelines.

Reviews from real Atomic Wallet users

We don’t want Atomic Wallet to get away with burying legitimate reviews. Therefore, we’re highlighting the voices of those who were affected by the Atomic Wallet hack.

This is the most untrustworthy wallet EVER to be considered! June 2023: $100 million plus lost due to THEIR internal hack and no recompense for those who ever had the stupidity to trust it! Decentralised? That’s a BIG joke! Whatever you do, DO NOT TRUST this Sierra Hotel One Tango wallet!

Lost 13k USDT from this Wallet on June 3 2023. Perhaps I am one of the 0.1% lucky” ones as they stated. But it is more likely that the company is deceiving the public and many more users have suffered. Recently they wrote BS that they had strengthened security, but did not even inform users that they needed to withdraw everything from old wallets and generate new wallets with new keys (they hope that most users don’t understand how it works) The keys to all wallets which existed before June 3 are for sure compromised and everyone who still uses them is sitting on a powder keg: all your money will be gone as soon as there is enough money to sweep it all away. Such information obviously would scare off most customers” forever. From the warning Trustpilot displayed above, you can conclude that they write fake 5-star reviews so that we, the victims of their unprofessionalism or possibly fraud, get lost among fake reviews. Looks like dishonesty is written in their corporate code Hopefully this information saves someone’s money

Worst decision I ever made was to trust this wallet with my crypto, in June 2023 I had my wallet drained of all funds through no fault of my own and the response from AW has been terrible! We filled out forms and got nothing back and they continue to operate like nothing has happened! People have lost so much money and are devastated. I will never ever trust this wallet and I suggest no one else does! Thanks for nothing Atomic Wallet for losing all my crypto that took me over 2 years to accumulate!

Don’t give money to these scammers. The wallet was hacked due to the fault of ATOMIC and people lost several dozen million dollars in total. I lost it myself too. They have been deceiving me for half a year and do not want to return the money lost due to the fault of ATOMIC.

Historic tweets on Atomic Wallet’s Twitter have been removed as well as scores of user’s posts on Reddit for simply stating that they had lost their life savings.

One month later and no update, other than being told to sit tight with complete radio silence from the CEO.

People have lost tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands and, in some cases, millions and deserve transparency.

Avoid at all costs if it isn’t already too late.

Mr Jordan Thompson (Great Britain), July 03, 2023

Atomic wallet was my main wallet until… Until it got hacked on 3rd June 2023 and lost around 50$ million dollars (According to some sources 100$ million). And what did they do? Did they give a report about potential weakness, did they compensate people? As of today which I’m writing this, 16 days have passed and they haven’t disclosed even a single piece of information and they haven’t accepted any responsibility whatsoever. Bottom line avoid this wallet like plague. It’s not safe and its owners doesn’t care about your assets at all.

Ben kaf (Canada), June 19, 2023

3 days and no response plus many a fake positive reviews to cover the negative! This says it all! Read Twitter, Reddit about how many millions stolen from their end and no responsibility, ownership to help and return. Anyone who has the audacity and morality to add positive reviews after 3rd June 2023 hack, certainly is paid to do it. Lies and theft always gets caught eventually, Atomic wallet.

Avneet Sachdeva (Great Britain), June 03, 2023

The incident on June 3 has not been resolved at all, the company remains silent and leaves the situation as it is. They cannot be trusted because they will not help you even if it is their fault.

Questions and answers about Atomic Wallet

Is Atomic Wallet safe?

No. Atomic Wallet suffered a ~$100,000,000 breach and has still not identified the cause of the breach. No funds have been returned to any affected users.

Why do so many websites claim that Atomic Wallet is secure?

This probably relates to affiliate revenue. Website owners often receive affiliate fees for referring new users. These people are incentivized by money—not accuracy.

Has Atomic Wallet determined the cause of the hack?

Not to our knowledge. From this post on Reddit we see that Atomic Wallet’s response is, At the moment, none of the possible issues are confirmed as potentially causing massive breaches, as such types of attacks are very hard to recognize.” After many months, Atomic Wallet still hasn’t confirmed that they know how their system was penetrated—or how they might prevent that from occurring in the future.

Why don’t you just reach out to Atomic Wallet?

Unfortunately, Atomic Wallet seems to only respond to incoming emails with generic responses. After months of waiting for some kind of action on their behalf, users affected by the Atomic Wallet hack are still left without any answers from the company.

Is Atomic Wallet a scam?

Some theorize that Atomic Wallet’s team may have been involved in the June 3 hack. Some suggest that the only way the codebase could have been infiltrated in the way it was, must have occurred by someone working within the company. That said, there’s no clear evidence confirming this. Should Atomic not have been compromised from inside the company, the hack certainly suggests negligence on behalf of Atomic Wallet.

It appears that Konstantin Gladych and the people at Atomic Wallet are glossing over the Atomic Wallet hack—and claiming that there are no security issues with their app. This puts many unsuspecting people at risk. Please link to this page and share it widely to help spread the word.
